A quilting we will go
Well, I have been somewhat conspicuous in my absence. A lengthy wordy post about my many, shudder, hobbies, and the intention of purchasing a sewing machine. Well a sewing machine was purchased on Sunday, more material was purchased on Saturday and Sunday and Monday were spent in an orgy of getting to know my new toy. The result of which was this.

I had hand pieced the smaller patches together, to prove to myself that the sewing thing wasn’t a fly by night fad and that a sewing machine would be a worth while purchase. Then they were all sewn together using the sewing machine. Be kind to me, bear in mind it is the first of it’s kind that I have attempted. I followed a pattern from a book and crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.
This is probably my favourite picture of it.
I still need to add a border and find a backing. But am a little apprehensive about it now, no colours seem quite right in my head and after a trawl through the internet I am still no wiser in my poor befuddled mind. Also where on earth does one by the filling that goes in the middle on this little sceptred isle?
My other little taskette at the weekend was to paint some truly ugly plastic faux terracotta pots.
Amazing what £2.50 and some paint samples can do! I have plans for more of them. I row of ice cream pots along the edge of the garden with dying plants in that I can’t water because of the hose pipe ban!

Your quilt is fantastic — I can’t believe that this is your 1st attempt..are you sure? The pots are great too — I’m obsessed with painting buckets/tin baths for my plants to go in.
