Branching out

September 6, 2007

Close

In more ways than one. Branching Out is the pattern and I was branching out technique wise into the new world of lace knitting. You know what? I think I might like it.

I love how it can go from this

Scrunch

to this with just the aid of some water and pins.

Only problem is it’s not really the sort of thing I wear! So for now it will just have to live with my shelf of special things.

(Note to self: look into camera tripods.)

This is beautiful! You did a great job. I am so impressed. I just found a lace knitting book so that is a start, right?http://indianhillmediaworks.typepad.com/yarntalk/

Oh it’s lovely. I love every time I see someone do this scarf. It just looks so great.

I think it is beautiful you must feel really proud at having mastered that pattern, well as someone still struggling with one line purl and one line knit I would.

I feel that way about lace shaws. I love them and admire them as people finish them up but I am not a shaw wearing person (yet). If I take the time to make one, I just might wear it. Your scarf looks really pretty.

That’s beautiful, Branching Out was my first lace knit, and I’ve done several more since, it isn’t as scary as it looks is it?

Oooh, I love this! Just gorgeous. I would totally wear something like that, the problem is it would take two years for me to make it…like my socks, hehehehe!

That’s lovely! I know what you mean though -I have made several scarves just for fun, but I rarely wear them. Instead I used them as an excuse to buy a really pretty basket I coveted to have a place to keep them ;-)
If you are looking into tripods, I can recommend the Gorillapod http://www.joby.com/ – it’s great because you can place it on al sorts of uneven surfaces or even hang it from a branch, or whatever…
