Profiterole mountain

September 8, 2007

Yum

G said the other day thank-you for not putting the pictures of me on your blog and I suddenly realised that I hadn’t exposed him to the humiliation that I had intended to!

For his birthday BBQ last weekend he had asked one of our friends to make him profiteroles for his birthday cake.

Prep

Which she kindly did and assembled into a profiterole mountain in our kitchen. Gorgeous huge adequate sized nuggets of air filled with Baileys cream and smothered with rich dark chocolate sauce.

Serve

And as you can see from the first photo, completely and utterly gorgeous when devoured!

Um, Gemma, this is not helping my resolve at all. ;)
I’m now just openly drooling. I love choux pastry anyway, but the thought of Bailey’s cream just sent me over the edge.

WOW!!! I’ve never heard of Profiteroles. But to me, they look like Cream Puffs. Yes?
Oh please give the recipe for the filling! You said; “…filled with Baileys cream” Does that mean that Baileys is added to whipped cream, which is injected into them? Oh yes, I bet that’s it!
Oh wow! Cream Puffs with not just plain whipped cream inside. With Baileys Whipped Cream inside! Oh joy!

um, those look delicious. Happy belated b-day to G! and i’m sure if those profiteroles were in my face’s reach, it would have been a hell of a lot messier than his!
