Sweet and Good
There is a health drive going on Chez G&G. After seeing various photos of ourselves during the Summer and the horror that was "back to school" clothes shopping we are firmly on the healthy eating band wagon.
Previously we used to get boxes delivered by Abel and Cole but we both found that we were wasting quite a lot of it as there was only so much chard, onions and bean sprouts that our little household could get through. However, I recently discovered that G’s school runs their Farmer’s Choice scheme. A bag of fruit or veg or a mixed bag of both that directly profits the school PTA, so in the hope there would be fewer onions we have decided to give it a go.
The picture above is a taster of what arrived in our bags today. Far more manageable! So tonight we will be dining like kings on courgettes a plenty and G will have plenty of tomatoes to sustain him until his home grown ones begin to look a little more like this.
So with the lack of sweet things in our house at the moment I had to replace them with something. I finally cast on for something that I bought the yarn for a year ago! Is that common? To plan and then leave languishing forever and a day?
So with that I shall be off to cook my healthy dinner and look forward to a pudding of sweetness on my knitting needles.

Oh, the veggies look lovely but I have a terrible sweet tooth and the jellie bellies are even better.
I love courgettes too, and I have a gorgeous recipe for Chocolate Courgette Bread, but that probably wouldn’t go with the healthy eating.
I also grate up the courgettes and put them in spaghetti sauce–lovely!!!
I’m hungry now. And want to knit! :)
there’s nothing quite like a basket full of fresh produce, is there? When I first saw the photo I was going to congratulate you on fabulous garden produce and ask what your secret is. :-)
Love those jelly beans. How did you go resisting eating them when you were taking photos?
Those apples look like they are good old English varieties, oohh am drooling at the thought of biting into their crunchy sweetness, hope they taste as good as they look, unlike those awful mass produced nondescript spongy Golden Delicious that come from ……,had better stop before I offend, but you know where Gemma !!!
I rarely get past the planning and buying stage to the actual making bit! Is that Jelly Belly’s I see? The sours are our favs.
Those tomatoes look lovely but then so do the jelly beans! hehe
