The Bear posts
I don’t often get to leave the safety of Gemma’s house as she is very scared that I will get lost. I have been to Wales before but that has been on the train. When I go on the train I stay in Gemma’s bag because I don’t want people laughing at her. Because after all most grown-ups don’t take their friends with them when they go places.
But now that our little family has Brum it means that I get to see the scenery! Not that there is anything that interesting to look at on the way to Wales from our house. There was a big windmill.
A lot of sheep in frosty fields and lots of cones!
Then we eventually got to Wales.
And there was a BIG bridge
Then we had to PAY people to get into Wales. Gemma wasn’t pleased about that. She started muttering at G that he could pick her up on the way home.
Then Gemma and I had a nap in the car park at B&Q while G was at the football. Because even though Gemma really didn’t feel very well she still drove to Wales with him for company. I said I would go on my own with him but Gemma doesn’t trust anyone else to look after me properly.
After we all got back from Wales we decorated the house and made the living room into an Enchanted Forest! (Well, really I just told Gemma and G where to put things, they don’t really know what they are doing.) If I ask her nicely for you she might show you some of those pictures!

what a nicely spoken bear! such typing skills!
Cute :) I can’t believe that third picture is a field with sheep in it. If I didn’t inspect it so closely I could’ve sworn it was a beach in New England with seagulls all over it! I hope that you’re feeling better :)
I am dying!!! This is so freaking adorable and hilarious. Just so you know, I sleep with my blanky, too (pronounced “bankee” ) ; )
Nice to have you back – hope you’re feeling better soon x
How wonderful that your friend gets out of the house more often. And what a lovely wife to go all the way to the game and to stay in the car. I’m not sure I’m that good.
Thanks for the guided tour. I really liked.
That bridge remind me one in Lisbon – and we are used to pay in bridges and high streets !
To go all that way for G to watch football. My that’s amazing! I would hold that one over him for a long time, just casually mentioning it when the toilet needs cleaning or some such chore.
Glad you had a good time bear, and well done on looking after Gemma.
Oh! Bear’s day out! Looks like you all had a very nice day. I loved seeing the Welcome to Wales sign. I hope you post more, Bear!
What a sweet adventure :)
Mr Bear, I’m so pleased to see that other bears get to go on adventures too. Despite being 36 my dear old Ted Hornby comes with me on most trips. If I’m away for the night I don’t really like to leave him in the flat on his own incase someone comes and steals him. I think you’re very brave to have driven over that bridge. It was far to scary for me when I went to Wales so made my boyfriend of the time take us over the older bridge which is shorter, and I was still really scared! By the way, I love your happy smiley face. x
Hello Care Bear, nice to see you looking so well and are still accompanying Gemma on all her travels, should be much more comfortable now you have Brum. You certainly look happier than you did all those years ago in Germany when Gemma forgot to put you in the car on one of our trips but we did turn round and come and get you even though we had been travelling for nearly an hour. I remember you sulked all the way to the ferry which was nothing compared to the mood Gemma’s father was in !!!!!! But we ended up having a good time as all good Bear stories should end.
Good to hear from you Bear, my bear doesn’t get out much as he’s rather frail and elderly and we’re rather afraid he would lose something (an arm, his stuffing, an eye) if he ever travelled.
That motorway looks very familiar – the windmill would be the one on the industrial estate on the edge of Reading? Very close to my house and one we pass on a regular basis!
Doh! You were in Cardiff waiting in a car park? You could have come and had tea and cake here! I’m only a couple more junctions along the M4.
Oh Gemma you could have come to my house also, fancy sleeping in a car park !
