First garden weekend
I love the first weekend when it truly feels like Summer. We spent most of it in the garden tidying, planting, reading, pottering about. For the middle months of the year the garden feels like an extra room to our house. Less television gets watched, more books get read, the music gets changed.
I still sit in the garden and remember the awful year when we didn’t have a garden or even a terrace to sit on. And every evening that I sit out there and watch the sun go down I think about how lucky I feel to have an outdoor space back in my life. I don’t think that feeling is ever going to go away.

I really like this and the other daisy chain pictures you took – you look really cute. You’d have made a good hippy!

The daisies in your garden are gorgeous, I don’t think I would ever want to cut the grass !! Flower Power, Daisies Rule !
G is right. You would have made a great hippy. You look beautiful. You make summer sound so serene. Our summers are so hot and our garden so lacking in shade that there’s really only a small time of year when we can enjoy such bliss!
I love sitting in the garden and really miss having a lawn, ours is a city courtyard. We have to go to the park to sit on cool grass and make daisy chains.
In case I forget nearer the time, I hope you have fun at the match on the weekend. Be brave. Wear the hat. Good luck Cardiff.
I love that last picture of you. You’re so lucky to have a proper garden. We luckily have a beautiful porch, but because we’re in an apartment my gardening activities are restricted to that area!
What a lovely weekend. I love it when the weather suddenly turns nice and we get to be out of the house. I went to work today without a jacket for the first time. It felt so good. This won’t be a picnic weekend here, more rain in the forecast. At least there’s no drought….
Just staying at home, in or outside is always so good.
And where are you this weekend? Sat in the (rain soaked) garden? I hope not. Go Cardiff!
You captured it perfectly. Just as well you took pictures – it just might be the best of summer!
Oh it’s pouring here again; sick of the rain and want to be gardening too- come on Cornwall, get sunny! xx
