Snow glorious snow!

Not so much at my house although there were still some ice crystals on the grass this morning. I did go out and frolic in it a bit at about 11 o'clock last night just to say that I had done you understand. My neighbors already think that I am rather bonkers so I can't do any further damage in that sense.

It was a rather different matter when I got to the village where I work though. The grass and fields there were still pretty thick with it and when you walked on it it was still crisp and crunchy underfoot not all mushy and soggy like it normally is when it snows.

It was one of those perfect Winter days. Brilliant sunshine but freezing cold. For the first time this year I had my big coat on, scarf, gloves and my new fleece lined boots. It was rather a strange experience to be dressed like that and still have to have my sunglasses on!

I love the patterns that the snow and ice makes when it starts to melt. They are almost like animal markings in their way, as though the crystals make the inanimate come alive, and with the noise it makes when it starts to melt off the trees and bushes is incredible, a constant cracking, dripping and shuffling always off to the side just out of view. I think if it had still been going on when I was walking home in the dark I might have been quite freaked out!

Much as I enjoyed the unseasonable weather this morning it does seem wrong for October though, especially when there are still blackberries around!

I like snow so much. And winter even without it.

Beautiful photos, it is always strange to be bundled up against the cold and still need sunglasses!

Wow – snow already! We had a little freezing rain last night, but nothing substantial yet. I love winter, I do, but I always dread the beginning of it, because I love *fall* so much, and am never ready for it to be over!

I’m not used to the idea of snow before Hallowe’en. We just got cold, cold rain and the temps are down into the freezing digits at night. And it’s only October.

What fab photos! We didn’t get any snow here, maybe central london was too warm. Do hope the parcel has arrived safely too.

The photographs are great (as always). And don’t you just love having to get all bundled up in winter clothes? I do!
