Dusk

February 28, 2009

There is something special about nightfall in England. Spain doesn't do dusk, spectacular sunsets yes but dusk no. The peace that comes across you as the gloaming begins and the birds start to sing their own special lullaby.
I love the time of year when dusk appears just as I am leaving work. Not only do I get to walk home in this most special of lights with my own personal serenade but it heralds the coming of Spring, longer days, warmth, time in the garden and the eventual promise of Summer. All good things that I just can't wait for!

It’s a lovely time of day isn’t it? In autumn it signals cosy winter evenings but at this time of year – spring! So nice to be walking home from work in the light.

I can’t wait for spring either! Although – I’m bummed, I don’t think they’ll be much gardening for me, since I’m moving in June.
