I have things to tell you and Wimbledon pictures to post but I’ve been thrown a bit by bad news today. I was made redundant and I’ve been completely knocked sideways by it. Gin is the answer just not too sure what the question is at the moment.

Oh wow. That sounds like it came utterly as a blow. Drink up! Come back and tell us more soon. Hugs. xo
Oh Gemma, I am so sorry. It’s a horrible thing to happen. But it happens to the very best of us.
Stay positive. Someday you’ll look back on it and know it gave you the chance to do something much better.
Rough news, Gemma. Ali’s right: It’s always hard at the time, but when it happened to me it did end up changing my life for the better. Hope you can get through these first few days with your spirits intact (and I don’t just mean the gin ;)
oh dear, i am sorry :( stay positive, and keep us up to date… take care xx
Oh Gemma! I’m sorry honey. E-mail me if you want to chit chat about it. I love you dear!
So sorry to hear this. Take care of yourself, I’ll be thinking of you.
Oh Gemma I am so so sorry to hear your news. I totally know how you are feeling because I too am jobless and my redundancy came totally out of the blue as I had only been in the job two months! So I really feel for you. I hit the wine if I remember rightly and my in laws treated us to a take away that night to cheer me. My best advice is to keep positive. It’s happening to everyone in all kinds of jobs at the moment so you are not alone. Take care and keep your chin up. Fiona x
Poor love. Take care and keep your chin up. I know it probably feels awful at the moment, but there are better times ahead, I’m sure – I’m sending lots of positive thoughts and good wishes your way!
What horrible news, I’m really sorry.
Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that. Gin may not be the only answer, but definitely helps…
Sorry to hear this and hope the shock has worn off a bit now. For me, redundancy was the best thing that could have happened to me, but I know it’s not like that for everyone. Hope it is for you.
Oh dear, I bet that was a shock. Things will work out though, don’t worry!
Sorry to hear that! But there must be something even better for you, just around the corner. I will keep my fingers crossed!
Sorry to hear about the redundancy – must have been a really nasty shock. Hope you are feeling a little better now and that you will find something soon. Enjoy the summer in the meantime.
I don’t know if this will help but they were talking about the physical/emotional etc consequences of redundancy on Radio 4 the other day: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00lh453
