Season Change
Yesterday I was sitting in the garden thinking that we might be about to experience a bit of a late indian Summer. This morning I was rudely disabused of that fact! The noise of the wind through the trees awoke me and when I looked out the window it seemed distinctly Autumnal! (In fact as I sit here writing this I have two jumpers and a hat on! It's wrong I tell you!)
Today it is grey and when I poked my head out of the door to consider my clothing choices for the day it was freezing! So I came back in and wrapped a scarf around my chilling body and took my camera out to take some pictures
The chestnut tree at the front is shedding at a great rate much to the delight of the squirrels.
I always forgive this shrub it's incredibly stinky Summer flowers when I see the gorgeous berries it produces at this time of year.
And quite possibly the number one reason why I forgive Autumn's reappearance,
the reemergence of my middle name's sake. Not that there will be any left by the time Christmas comes around because the previously mentioned pesky squirrels and of course the birds will have got their little paws on them!
What a feast for those pesky critters !! lovely photos.
We had some really cold weather and then today it was warm and very humid. I had sweaters and wool socks on earlier in the week. In September!
I love the holly berries. We have a holly tree but it’s a male and we never get berries. I didn’t know that until I finally asked the people at the nursery why we had no berries.
i could NOT figure out what your middle name might be until I read Donna Lee’s comment. Holly!! Of course!
Oh I have a holly tree in my garden here!! I love it when the berries come but never at Christmas. It is meant to be Spring here, but we have snow on the mountain and it is very cold. Very cute squirrel pictures too!!!
