views and gifts

I've spent a lot of time with this view today. Doing the washing up as I went about a bit of a marathon cooking session. I have some of my favorite bits on here, my little Bridgewater candle mugs, and the birdie that a friend bought me for the Gemma Season last year. I hate our kitchen, it's a rented house so there isn't really much I can do about the dated cupboards and decor but my window sill is one area that I can pretty up a bit. Although looking at this picture I do rather need to have a window cleaning session in there!

I bought a massive bunch of coriander this week as I have been on a bit of a curry kick and it seems to be in simply everything and while G did wonder why I had put it in a wine glass instead of a tumbler I did think that the coriander'ss tumbling mane looked so much nicer falling over a stemmed glass than a squat little one.

I was rather surprised at myself though when I realised quite the amount of spices I had been juggling today! Loads of them, toasting and chopping and smashing! All terribly therapeutic. With my lovely big knife that no one else is allowed to touch!

When I haven't been washing up and cooking today I was finishing up these peculiar looking customers. Unblocked because I really can't be bothered! I started them over a year ago for a friend. She had seen an ipod sock that I had made for Bro and promptly requested her own, one for her ipod and one for her Sat Nav. They then sat completely unloved in a box until I found them the other day. So I finished those off just in time for her to come round for dinner, pampering and a bit of a "man hating" session.

She comes to group with me every Wednesday so I made a bit of an effort, tarka dahl, turkey shammi kebabs, vegetable samosas and a jelly/yogurt mousse affair for pudding. All allowed on the diet and quite tasty if I do say so myself. G was rather irritated that he wasn't allowed any! He plays football on a Thursday and sat down to his beans on toast in quite a grump. Although I have saved some for him to have later if he fancies it, I'm not completely heartless!

ooh a nice spot of cooking there Gemma. As you know, that’s our favourite kind of cooking! Lots of spices and so on.

Love the socks for the ipod. And I *sigh* love the Emma Bridgewater candles. I miss Woolworths sometimes.
