Home Sweet Home

Given the amount of time that I've spent at home over the last few months I suppose it was only a matter of time before it started to come out in the craft production! I've finished all my ongoing projects and have a few ideas in the pipeline. The other day though I wanted the fast food of crafting. Something quick, something easy, something instant.  Whilst this little project wasn't exactly instant, it's taken a couple of days, it was perfect in that there was no pattern, no major thought process, just felt, scissors, embroidery thread, beads and an old shirt of G's. All things I had to hand, I don't have a huge stash, or any stash for that matter, of fabrics or yarn and when the urge hits that is something I deeply regret! When The Bear showed you what he had begun he thought it needed something and he was right. As far as I was concerned that something was more french knots! (I think he agreed!)

My name is Gemma and I have an addiction to french knots. Especially those that wend and wind their way around around my font door a la roses.

Or sprinkle their way across some fluff to make up a little definition on a Welsh sheep.

Or march across a tree to make adorable blossom.

Ahhh yes I love the french knots and the french knots love me. Now I just have to find somewhere to hang it in my home and then attempt to knock a nail in without knocking out a load of plaster!

It is really lovely. I’m about to embellish a little ‘house’ of my own with French knots too …

It’s adorable – I suck making French knots! I always fake them, HA! Maybe you can pass on your knot wisdom and do a French knot tutorial. xoxo

I agree, just beautiful, And I am terrible at French knots – yours are stunning. They embellish teddy’s work nicely.
