Button Love

December 5, 2009

When I had my trip to London in October I dropped into Liberty and ohhhed and ahhhed over the vast array of loveliness that they had there. Being on a tight budget at the time meant I couldn't indulge myself as much as I would have liked but when I saw this gigantic purple button I knew that I had to have and it instantly came to me what it would be turned into.

A Princess Lasertron inspired brooch! I've moved it from coat to coat over the last couple of weeks since I made it ever since I took my poppy off. And I have had a vast amount of compliments and comments on it, even at my job interview last week!

So simple and yet I love it. Think I might have to make a few more in different colours if I ever find such large buttons again!

PS thanks so much for your congratulations on my last post. I sat reading them back today and I had a little weep sitting on the sofa. Blogland's kindness really knows no bounds, you are an amazing bunch of women.

Oh Liberty…how envious I am that you can just pop in there! Excellent purchase and even better use of it!

I’ve always wondered how I could use those seriously big buttons when I’ve come across a beautiful one, and now I know! That’s a really pretty brooch, and the black and white button on top goes really well with the purple one – love it!
